Dan Marino and Jeff Hostetler each passed for a touchdown in leading the West to a 24-2 win over the East at Altoona.
Marino completed 7-of-13 passes for 72 yards, including a two-yard flip to Dave Johnson of Penn Hills for the only TD of the first half. Hostetler completed 3-of-6 for 70 yards, including a 36-yard strike to Dan Rocco in the third quarter.
Johnson booted a 33-yard field goal before the East picked up a safety when Steel-High’s Al House tackled Windber’s Roger Shepko in the end zone.
The West added a closing TD when Tim Weatherspoon fielded a punt and lateraled the ball to Mark Engle on a play that covered 43 yards.
The East managed 106 yards passing and 79 rushing, but had two touchdowns and a field goal nullified by penalties. Mike Sutton of Blackhawk had six catches for 107 yards to earn offensive MVP honors. Valley’s Todd Campbell was MVP on defense.
