Leslie Frey

Leslie Frey joins the Big 33 as the Buddy Program Coordinator, bringing her passion for education and community engagement to the role. A graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Leslie was active in softball, field hockey, and served as a student athletic trainer. She earned her B.S. in Education from Lock Haven University and her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Shippensburg University. Currently, she is a dedicated 4th-grade teacher, marking her 24th year in the classroom during the 2025–26 school year, and has coached field hockey and softball at the local high school level.

Leslie has strong roots in Central Pennsylvania, having grown up outside Carlisle, and chose to stay local to remain close to family and friends. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her mom, exploring thrift shops, and attending craft shows. Leslie and her long-term partner, Dave, love to travel and recently discovered the thrill of shark tooth hunting along Venice Beach, Florida. She also shares her home with Summer, a lively and affectionate Goldendoodle. A fun family connection to the Big 33 is her brother, who was a ball boy for the organization as a young child.

What Leslie loves most about her role is connecting with the Buddy families, volunteers, and the Buddies themselves. She is inspired by the organization’s mission to empower athletes and provide meaningful opportunities for individuals with special needs. Outside of work, Leslie enjoys gardening, upcycling, collecting seashells, seaglass, and shark teeth, and simply spending time outdoors. She is thrilled to be formally involved with the Big 33 and looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of everyone she works with.
