Big 33 Buddy Program

Launched in 1985, the Big 33 Buddy Program pairs individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with Big 33 athletes, creating unforgettable experiences and breaking down barriers. Throughout game week, Buddies get the chance to connect with athletes both on and off the field, forming special memories that last a lifetime.

The Buddy Program is designed to create an environment where everyone is seen for who they truly are, beyond their disabilities. For individuals with special needs, it provides an opportunity to be part of a community where they are accepted, valued, and celebrated. Football players and cheerleaders embrace their Buddies unconditionally, creating an atmosphere of inclusion, respect, and fun.

As a Buddy, you’ll enjoy a range of exciting activities: meeting athletes, taking photos, collecting autographs, and joining in the excitement of a pep rally. The program continues to grow each year, giving more individuals with disabilities the opportunity to experience this unique, inclusive environment.

All events and activities are FREE for Big 33 Buddies. Being part of the Buddy Team is a chance to be part of something bigger, where every individual with special needs has an opportunity to shine.
