Ohio won its first Big 33 football game in the four-year old series defeating Pennsylvania, 16-14, before a crowd of 16,000.

Tailback Jonathan Moore, Canton McKinley, scored on runs of 24 and 2 yards in the second and fourth quarters, and Ohio quarterback John Viehaber, of Findlay, ran for one two-point conversion, and passed to end Jackie Hudson, of Warren Harding, for the other to supply the margin of victory.

Pennsylvania took a quick 7-0 lead, driving 71 yards in 11 plays with tackle Rick Zimmerman, Central Dauphin East, recovering tailback Bobby Watkins’, Pitt. Central Cath., fumble in the end zone. Watkins, the game’s leading rusher with 105 yards, scored Pennsylvania’s other touchdown on a one-yard plunge.

Highlight of the 70-yard, four-play drive was a 56-yard pass from Pat Haney, Bethlehem Catholic, to wingback Scott Fritze, Red Lion.
