Making the most of its big-play offense, Ohio scored to a 21-0 lead and coasted to a 35-20 victory before 16,000 at Hersheypark Stadium.

Quarterback Scott Mutryn powered the Ohio team by completing 7-of-14 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. He also connected on a 74-yard bomb with Andy McCullough to the Pennsylvania 4-yard line.

Three plays later, fullback Curtis Enis plunged for the first of his two scores. Ohio added second quarter TDs by Kevin Huntley (20-yard pass from Mutryn) and Damon Moore (72-yard interception return) to take a 3-touchdown lead at the half.

Pennsylvania closed to within 28-12 in the third quarter on Jim Pizano’s 22-yard run and Eric Kasperowicz’s 8-yard pass to Chris Schneider. Kasperowicz was 13-of-22 for 189 yards.

Mutryn and Huntley combined again on a 3-yard scoring strike to end any hope of a comeback. Pennsylvania had trouble all night with Ohio’s tall receivers matched against smaller defensive backs.

Pennsylvania had only 56 rushing yards. Enis had 53 for Ohio.

Darryl Daniel was Pennsylvania MVP with six catches for 109 yards, while Scott Mutryn captured the honor for Ohio.
