1960 Recap

A heavy rainstorm bogged down the offense of both teams as the National High School All-Americans battled the Big 33 to scoreless stalemate at Hershey.
Rick Leeson of Pittsburgh broke loose on a 48-yard run, but slipped and fell in the mud as he cut to avoid the last defender.
The rain put a damper on the expected passing show by All-Americans Jerry Rhome, who later smashed a batch of college records, and Jay Wilkinson, son of Oklahoma coach Bud Wilkinson.
Among the Pennsylvania standouts were Jim Kelly, who became an All-American at Notre Dame, Frank Hershey and Jim Heilman.
