The West scored 14 points in the first five minutes and then held on to beat the East by 17-13 at Hersheypark Stadium.

The East got into trouble on the opening kickoff when John Lewis slipped and his knee hit the ground at the four-yard line. After the East punted to its own 46, Rich Ingold passed that distance to Larry Miles. Mark Lezanic’s kick made it 7-0 with only two minutes gone.

The East fumbled on the second play after the kickoff and Ingold passed 19 yards to Bob Lawson at the two. Marion McIntyre took it from there and Lezanic’s kick made it 14-0. A 30-yard Lesanic field goal made it 17-0 at the half.

The East moved 89 yards, with Barry Wasilewski passing 12 yards to Marty Cull for the score early in the final period. Stan Gelbaugh added the point. The East moved to the West 20 before an interception killed the threat. The East added a closing TD on a 10-yard pass from Rick Sheetz to Jeff Miller with just 29 seconds remaining in the game.
